About The Owner
Born Alfonso Bafidis III, he goes by the nickname of Ponch Bafidis. He was raised in Pecos Texas, graduated from Howard Payne University, and now resides in San Antonio.
Ponch started in the mortgage industry in 1994. His competitive nature, ability to think out of the box, and customer service skills quickly saw his rise through the ranks of the mortgage industry. Ponch is a highly demanded and respected executive in the mortgage industry. His ability to build mortgage lending infrastructures allowed him to successfully develop the required departments of Direct Rate which benefit our customers. With all his vast knowledge and experience, he knows what customers are looking for and is excited to deliver their wants and needs. His vision and desire to provide a simple mortgage process, low rates, along with years of practical experience and education were the driving forces to create Direct Rate.
